All Things that Make Noise

This is my final project for my Ba(Hons) Illustration in an independently run module. My task was to write, illustrate and print a children’s picture book in twelve weeks. It was incredibly challenging as a project, creating a story I wanted to make that would be enjoyable to a child audience.

These are a small selection of illustrations from the picture book, which I believe turned out really well. Below is an example of how the illustrations turned out in the final product.

I had some extra time left before the deadline, so I chose to expand the project into creating a story sack containing activities children can enjoy.

One of the activities was cards of songs to play on the xylophone, which are decorated with butterflies and patterns on the back. The song chosen for the card are very basic which should be easy for a child to play, the cards are contained in an illustrated box.

Another of the activities was a colouring sheet with crayons in an All things that make noise-themed box. I also designed a colour-in mask for the children to play with.
