Finishing existing projects

My first task of the year is to clear my plate of existing projects I have collected and neglected. Most of the projects have been gifted to me because that’s what you get for the creative person in your life more kits, crafts and projects to hoard. I am particularly susceptible to hobby collecting all by my self, let alone enabled.

So starting the year out by finishing what I have to make mental and physical space.

Starting with:

Ahhh the Hobbycraft Air-Dry Clay kit, gifted to me by my wonderful cousin Laura and Oliver. It was gifted last year for my birthday, that’s seven months folks, for a present I was so excited about getting to do.

Anyway onto the kit itself you get:

  • Four packs of air dry clay

  • Two textured rolling pin

  • Two different colour paints

  • And a step-by-step instructions

This is my result five leaf coasters.

Yeah this kit was a disappointment. The kit lacks the beginner’s tools. You know a pointy tool to cut the clay, no texture rolling pin and maybe a sponge. These are needed to make anything in the instructions.

The clay was very dry and often crumbly but that’s likely because it stayed in the package for months, so it stood very well. The paint was good, the green came out looking a bit washy but I don’t hate how my leaves turned out.

Speaking of the instructions, written by Gabi of @art.by.bossa on instagram, is a delight of well written instructions to make simple projects to make with the air-dry clay. I will be keeping this for the next time I work with air clay because the alphabet pot looks so cool.

⭐️⭐️ out of five stars

Wouldn’t pick as a gift.

The instructions were the highlight of the kit.

Hopefully I will be back next week with a different project.

See yea.
